There are 3 bodies of water in the park where fishing is allowed. Those are Harlem Meer, Central Park Lake, and Central Park Pond. They are all catch and release only, and hook barbs are not allowed.
There are Park Department signs around stating the presence of the infamous
northern snakehead fish that can travel and survive on land for days, and reproduces quickly in large numbers. They state not to release this fish, but instead call NY non-emergency services at 311.
