Duck Pond, in Hopkinton State Park, is within the same Sudbury River watershed as nearby Indian Brook, which is the brook impounded in the 1890s to create the Hopkinton Reservoir.
The pond is stained and murky, but the pickerel don't seem to mind. If you like pickerel stew come here. Put on a
Zoom Super Fluke to catch them, and use
Seaguar fluorocarbon leader.
There are
trails that run from the pond to the Hopkinton Reservoir.
On Saddle Hill Road, at the entrance to Duck Pond Trail, a small dirt pull off fits a few cars. Alternatively, you can park at the boat ramp off Rafferty Road and walk the trails to the pond.
