The Old Sprague Bridge on Route 1A crosses the Narrow River. General parking is at the southwest side of the bridge. Parking for a small hand launch boat ramp is on the northeast side of the bridge.
I had no idea what this fish was until I looked it up. The technique I was using was to cast a 3/4 ounce jig with weedguard and a rubber swimbait trailer upstream, let it bottom bounce down current, and repeat. This sea robin apparently liked the presentation.
The areas I fished were around this bridge. It's a fun and popular spot. I was spinning, but it is a great place to fly fish with streamers and poppers. Striper fishing, in general, is best between dusk and dawn in spring and fall, but they can certainly be caught at other times too.
