Dan's Tackle Box

Hard Bait

Jig
Tackle Box Rating - Candy
Black. 1/2 ounce. Can be fished with or without a skirt. Sinks. Swim it and work it through weeds. Fan the weed guards out around the hook point. Use a trailer like a Yamamoto 5 inch Swim Senko and recycle it when it gets beat up.

Spoon
Tackle Box Rating - Candy
Silver, gold, or striped. 1/2oz. Sinks. Good for fresh and saltwater applications. Trout love them too. Not weedless, but if you attach a single hook facing the concave side then it is weed resistant. Wobbles when reeled. Reel it in and let it drop occasionally. Kastmasters and Krocodiles are popular ones.

Jerkbait
Tackle Box Rating - Candy
Not weedless. Topwater. Walk the dog and let it sit. The Heddon Super Spook Jr. is a good weight and size for casting and catching, as are as the Rapala size 9 jointed and floating minnows.

Spinnerbait
Tackle Box Rating - Fishfinder
Popular colors are chartreuse and white, and black and blue. 1/2 ounce. Sinks. Does fine through weeds. Levels out when reeled in. Hits all depths. Reel it in, jerk it, bang it off the bottom, and let it drop.

Tackle Box Rating - Fishfinder
1/2 ounce. Floats. Topwater. Not weedless. Walk the dog. Jerk the rod repeatedly so that the lure pops.

Frog
