Spearfishing was more difficult than anticipated. Prior to our trip to Mexico I booked a charter with Arpon Spearfishing in Playa del Carmen. These guys are the real deal. Even though I had never spearfished before it was amazing, and by the end of the trip I was able to relax and carry out the very basics. Our guide, Matias, on the left, caught the fish below.

This bird was quick to appear when I caught a small barracuda while surfcasting. The fish flopped off the rocks and back into the ocean before I could snap a picture.
