When I was a boy my family vacationed at Davis Cabins on Lake Sunapee every year. My Dad and I would go to the local bait shop in Newbury Harbor to buy nightcrawlers. The next morning I would wake him up at 5am to go out on the boat that we rented with the cabin. He wanted to go fishing, but not that early. We would almost always catch fish, mostly largemouth bass, but also rock bass, smallies, and catfish occasionally.
After my parents got divorced I dragged my Mom fishing to places like Factory Pond in Holliston and Indian Brook in Hopkinton.
These are the types of lasting memories I want to pass onto my kids. Even if they don't like fishing I hope they enjoy our adventures together.
Thanks Mom and Dad.
We still go to Sunapee once in a while, like in May of 2014. My kids refer to the place we stayed as the 'red house'. Good times.
